• They've been in a relationship for a number of years in Edgeworth's continuity, but had been broken up for a number of years in Phoenix's because of the time jumping that goes on at xovercrack. They've known each other since fourth grade and have gone through a number of ordeals together, including murder trials, kidnappings and betrayals.
• While at xovercrack, they have broken up and gotten back together twice (due to Phoenix being unfaithful with Kristoph Gavin) before finally getting married. However, it seems they still have some hurdles to cross before their relationship will be stable.

• Trucy is Phoenix's adopted daughter. They're very close and basically support each other both emotionally and financially. Phoenix is pretty protective of her, and in an attempt to protect her, keeps quite a few secrets from her.
• Some unsavory things recently happened to her at the hands of Daryan Crescend and Tohru Adachi. Phoenix could not be more enraged if he tried. They have something coming to them, that's for sure.

• Phoenix, Sasarai, and Edgeworth are all mutual friends. Sasarai was pretty intent on making sure their relationship lasted, which can be kind of an awkward subject to bring up at present because of strangely interested in it he was. Phoenix likes him, though, because they have a lot of similar ideals.

• He obviously considers Gant to be a pretty serious criminal, but Phoenix is kind of too nice of a guy not to get along with Gant while living in his house. He doesn't mind him...except for the whole blackmailing, murdering pedo stuff.

• Considers Apollo to be his student, for the most part, but a little bit like his son in some regards, too, because of Apollo's innocent nature and his relation to Trucy.

• He had a brief love affair (not to mention an odd friendship and a whole mess of criminal issues) with Kristoph before coming to xovercrack, and Kristoph apparently has not and will not get over it. Phoenix would like to be friends with him, but at the moment, has found that to be too difficult and so, is just avoiding him altogether.
• ...Or that's what he would like to do, but has trouble doing so when he drinks (read: a lot).

• A number of years ago, Maya was Phoenix's assistant. She's the younger sister of his mentor, Mia Fey, and because he was so close with Mia, he felt it was his duty to watch out for Maya in her place. They have gone through quite a bit together. Maya is probably Phoenix's closest friend, discounting Edgeworth.

• He thinks Klavier is an okay guy and doesn't have any sort of anger towards him regarding the situation that got his attorney's badge revoked (he blames that entirely on Kristoph), but he doesn't exactly like the idea of Trucy having a crush on him. Apollo having a crush on him is an entirely different matter.

• Their relationship is...strange. After battling in court numerous times, they seem to have come to an understanding of sorts (or perhaps Franziska has just gained a bit of respect for him). Of course, Franziska doesn't want to give up her "revenge" just yet -- it will take a lot for her to let that go. Though Phoenix is oblivious, Franziska plans for him to father her child (as a donor more than as a father...probably).

• Matt is one of the only criminals Phoenix has been involved with in court that he actually holds resentment for. This is mainly because Matt hired de Killer to kidnap Maya, but also because he is just a generally despicable human being (at least from Phoenix's perspective).
